Dexter Castro is a nursing student before he joined Ginoong Filipinas in 2005. After a succeessful debut on the male pageant scene, it looks like his plan to finish a nursing career went phhhttt ... as tempting offers both in modelling and in the movies as well as television starts knocking at his door. Kudos can be said to his indefatigable manager Jun Noya as he was the brains behind Dexter's slowly ... but surely entrance to the moviedom's gate.

After landing a finalist slot in Ginoong Filipinas 2005, the call of showbiz seemed like a magnet to Dexter. He has some reservations at first but after some baptisms of fire when he agreed to pose au naturel to some local glossy mags, there is no stopping him now. He has his local guesting in Eat Bulaga where he showed the world he too can dance . A nd from there he inched his way to important telenovelas, minor roles at the start, but he was excited to say, "I have a speaking part."
