The news that June Macasaet winner of Manhunt International 2012 title who bested 53 delegates from around the world will be stripped off the title because he wasn't able to perform his duties to his producers and to the local franchise (Prime Events Production and Manhunt Philippines who is now busy knee deep with the preparations of Manhunt Philippines 2013) hit like a punch in the gut.
Indeed, local pageant observers were saddened by the turn of events and such a draconian and stringent decision of stripping a winner off a title (lalo na may international titleholder ito ... baka mamaya pati si Alex Liu at mga alipores nito ay maenganyo ring tanggalan rin siya ng titulo ... huwag naman) is something we dont want at this stage. Nakakahawa kasi iyan.
We know we can't blame Prime Events Productions for their sentiments (prinsipyo at kontrata lang naman ang nasa side nila), as they need June Mac to drumbeat Manhunt Philippines 2013 which will have its airtime next month. On the other hand we still don't know the reasons why June Mac is not cooperating. He might have valid reasons too for making himself unavailable.
Pero huwag naman tayong mawala or magside kahit kanino. And we want cooler heads to intervene. Ang punto ng Man Central ay ito: "Isang "international title ang pinagusapan natin dito at baka masilat pa ito. Titulo na ... maging bato pa. We could not fathom kung kailan ulit tayo biyayaan ng ganito sakaling aayon ang owner ng Manhunt sa decision ng local franchise.. Sa kaunting tampuhan tulad nito ... baka maghintay tayo ng siyam-siyam ... it might even take a lifetime... katulad ng paghintay natin kung kailan tayo biyayaan ng Miss World title that is very elusive.
At huwag nating kalimutan ang efforts both ng producer (Prime Events Production) at talent (June Macasaet) ... makuha lang ang titulo. Everybody did their best as they move heaven and earth ... mabigyan lang ng karangalan ang Pilipinas. And besides ... malapit ng matapos ang term ni June, why end it in the sour note.
Somebody suggested na sigi ... Cris Edwin Navarro can fill the shoes of June Mac at the time na wala siya. At kung available na si June pwede silang dalawa magtulongan para mapromote ang pageant. We also agree sa decision ng Prime Events Production na si Edwin and ipadala this year bilang representative. Deserving naman siya. Yong winner kasi this year will compete (raw)sometime in May next year sa Beijing.
One last point ... huwag tayo magpadala sa init ng ulo. Baka mamaya dahil sa kapusokan natin at pagigiging impulsive natin ... after everything has calmed down ... magsisisi tayo at mabubuhay tayo sa stage ng panghihinayang at bukambibig ang salitang SAYANG! Huwag naman ...
We also ask June Mac na huwag naman niyang paglaruan ang international title niya. Kung wala siyang keber dito ... gawin na lang niya para sa mga kababayan niya. BIG Deal sa kanila ang pagkapanalo niya kaya .huwag niyang kalimutan yon ... kaya kung ano man ang tampuhan ninyo ng producer mo ... please patch things up ... QUICK!
