Pinoy Fear Factor succeed where other Pinoy reality shows failed, and we are talking about commercial and entertainment values infused in one show. While other reality shows are tedious and repetitious, PFF won the hearts of its TV viewers as they glued to their seats to witness participants dealing with their fears and confronting them.
As my friend Michael said and I quote, " One Man's fear ... is another man's fun." So as the show deliver and the candidates execute ultra, nay, ... I say excessive use of tests from hair- raising helicopter stunts, to candidates eating live tarantulas and scorpions, viewers glued to their seats in anticipation what the show would present next.
On its final week, we witness the last two remaining participants Jommy Teotico and Jana Banana battling mano-a-mano to determine who's who in the land of the valientes.
And the spectacle didn't fail us, as Jommy and Jana risking their lives and limbs to execute a stunt only James Bond will dare do. Jommy was his confident-self, and Jana was Amazon-personified. And when Jommy launched a fiery stunt to end all stunt as his car run turtled like there is no tomorrow - that scene will erase any car chase scene ever recorded in Philippine cinema.
That scene alone won for Jommy 2 million pesos and a house and lot.
And as he stood on top of a truck popping a champagne amidst the rain of fireworks and other pyrotechnics, we celebrated with his success. His tears fell. And so was ours.
Until the next Pinoy Fear Factor.
